Cutting a faceplate on a CNC

Howdy gang.  Although I have been on a hiatus from amps for a couple of years, I am slowly getting back with a unique build.  The case will be blue with a white stripe, like a Cobra GT, so that's the name of the amp.  Anyways, I am putting together the chassis and thought I would share a blog posting or how I cut faceplates on my CNC router.

Very nice faceplate (and machine).

Like you, I am pleased that Autodesk now offers free student/hobbyist licences for Fusion 360:  it works very well for me.  I am even able to import designs exported from Front Panel Express's Front Panel Designer software in DXF.

Before Fusion 360 was available, I was able to engrave using the gcodetools plug-in distributed with Inkscape, a very nice open source vector drawing package.

I just completed the first machining job after the spindle upgrade: a faceplate for the CNC control computer.  It's not a tube amp, but I use it to make tube amp faceplates!
