Dano Centurian amp = Silvertone 1472?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About ayr ago, my son and I bought my son-in-law a DanElectro model 275 Centurian amp. GREAT sound for blues!
Has 6V6 output tubes and a really weird piezo-transducer (?) reverb that "sorta" works.
I've been searching the net off & on for a yr trying to find a schematic for this amp using every DanElectro & schematic site I can find with no luck. I found a Silvetone 1484 schematic that seems to have some similar features but uses 6L6's. Anyone know a source for this Dano Centurian amp ...OR another Silvertone schematic that has the piezo reverb with 6V6 tubes? (I'm thinking maybe the Silvertone series had this same amp by DanElectro?)
I don't have the amp with me currently but would like to go thru it and service it for him. Tubes are 12AX7 6CG7
12AX7 6X1 6V6 6V6 6AU6
-------
2nd and unrelated question:
I noticed the Princeton Reverb bass uses a .047 & .1 cap and some other Fenders use a .022 & .1. I presume the bass knob on "5" would sound different from one circuit to the other design. Would they sound the same with the bass knob at "10"? Or would I hear a little less bass with the .022 & .1 caps?

The latest version of aspen pittman's Tube amp book comes with a CD ROM with his whole schematic archive, I'll check my copy later and get back to you-

Anyone correct me if I am wrong-PLEASE!
The DanElectro Centurian model 275 seems to be the same as a Silvertone 1472 (2) 12AX7, 6x4 rectifier, 6AU6 tremolo, and 6V6's for output. The Silvertone 1472 does not have the funky piezo transducer reverb but the Silvertone 1484 does and it appears to be driven by a 6CG7 same as the Centurian. At any rate, even if the schematic isn't perfect, it should give enough info to work on the amp. THANKS!

Hello Tubenit
A 1472 and 1482 have the same circuit. The 1472 looks like
this:

A 1482 looks like this:
f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph...t+View.jpg
So you see it's basicly the same thing except the 1472 has
black tolex and 1482 Gray, 1472 has metal handle and 1482
has plastic handle. The circuits are the same so if your Dano
looks like this you can download a schematic off the Silvertone site at this link. When you get to the site just
click on the heading "Schematics" and find the 1482 or the 1472. Plate

Your Welcome tubenit
I love my two 1482's!!! I've got one completely stock
and one I've moded with a new 3/8" plywood speaker baffle
to replace card board like baffle, new back plate,
new 12" Weber Speaker, added a fender tweed deluxe tone
stack on the mic channel to give it a little brightness and
also new filter caps/power resistors. The moded one definatly
sounds better than the original one. Hope you get yours sounding good. Here is a link to my photos on my 1482's
plus some other silvertone stuff if you would like to take a peek. See Ya, Plate

Thanks again. Those amps really having an amazing sound! The Centurian has a 12 stock Jensen speaker and an incredibly warm sound. Overdrives without too much trouble more mid-ly sounding than a Princeton and the notes retain their definition pretty well. Great blues or harp amp. tubenit
