Installed Ironsounds Loop In My Hoffman 2034
« on: September 17, 2015, 07:41:45 pm »
Well i am getting things done this week.  I love my Hoffman 2034 it's an original Doug build but I was always afraid to install a loop as I did not want to damage it or have it rob tone.  I ordered an Ironsounds loop several moths ago to install in my bandmaster clone as a guinea pig 1st to see how it did.  I had read on here that Tubnit, LC and others had installed them with good results so I figured I would give it a whirl.  I liked it so much in it that I ordered another to install in the 2034.  It fits nicely above the pre aamp tubes and has the cooling fan intake ports located between the top of the tubes and bottom of the loop so there will be no heat issues.  I was cringing when I had to modify the chassis but managed to take my time and did a nice clean job.  I tell you what for 59.00 shipped you can beat this kit for tight installs.  Very easy assembly straight forward instructions.  With the by pass engaged it sounds like the original.  Although I had plenty of room  in the bandmaster to install something else I have no regrets.
I have also included a pic of the bottom of Dougs early board.  Had to peek while I was in there.

Yeah, thanks for the pics and the information!

I have actually never used an Ironsound Loop so I appreciate hearing a review from someone off the forum.  I've only done tube FX's on board.

With respect, Tubenit

Doug this amp is stamped 0006

Jeff my apologies I thought you had used it.  Either way it is a good loop.  I have installed the metro loop, tut loop, and mojo loop very similar to mojo and metro but for cost and ease of install I like this one I would not hesitate to install again.
