speaker re-cone question
« on: July 20, 2015, 06:15:37 pm »
Can a speaker be re-coned to a different impedance? Can a 4 0hm become an 8 ohm and vice versa? If so, are there any limitations to how far you can go? I want a 32 ohm speaker to become an 8 ohm.

As far as I know, the impedance is the winding of the voice coil. The magnet and frame are not part of that equation. So, sure, get the stuff and recone away, whatever electrical characteristics you want.
