Jazz-O-Caster 1 floating bridge mod
« on: December 18, 2015, 06:07:24 am »
The evil-lution continues on the Jazz-O-Caster

My previous Jazz-O-Caster mod post are here

The 2 screw mod I did was a success except that the body wood is so soft in this guitar, all 6 bridge screws were leaning forward towards the neck.
With only two screws left and four removed, the stress on those two screws was intense

The 2 screw mod I did made the bridge float and stay in tune really well.
So I decided to take it one step further
I installed threaded inserts and modified the trem plate so it had knife edges

I cut a but deeper and sharper grooves into the studs to get the bridge to pivot more precisely

That's probably the last mod I'll do to the original Jazz-O-Caster

And so, with all this modding on this piece of junk guitar, I decided to build a new Jazz-O-Caster from scratch using a nice All Parts body and neck
stay tuned for that build
