In the first three minutes you are discussing the Fender schematic. But you are discussing the 5F6 schematic, not the 5F6A schematic. They are quite different, especially how the NFB circuit and presence control is wired.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Oh wow, didn't realize that!  I may need to make some youtube comment on the video for that.  Thanks!

I think there is another Bypass cap as well.  Compare V2 of each.

Video 2, I show the "RIGHT" schematic this time and talk about that for a minute, and then show off the first part of the chassis layout.

I would suggest you do a dry fit of the board and pots on the front to see how caps will fit inside the chassis along the edge of the board. It's gonna be very tight inside that narrow chassis. You may just change your mind about abandoning the doghouse. I personally would use the doghouse on a tweed chassis.

I actually have the build complete and I was able to get them all in there without too much trouble.  It sounds great, I'm just trying to edit down the videos and publish one a week.  (I could just upload it all at once, but I've found that most people don't have the patience to watch more than about 5-10 mins of video at a time, and I'm trying to keep a regular publishing schedule on the videos.) I can get some pics of the finished amp here though if people are interested.

Basically Doug's method worked again, for my preferences anyway :)  I have a solid grounding bus that comes just above the power rail so I can connect the caps gnd to that and then the + to the turret.

I'd like to see some good pics of the inside of the chassis. I'm sure others would too. And people considering this build would probably benefit from seeing some good gut shots, especially how you did the caps. I usually get a lot more from the pics than a video.

This is my album of the whole build.  The last 6 ones are the new ones I took tonight showing things.  I did some wood cutting in the shop and now I need to go over it with air to get the sawdust off hehe.

I'm also going to post to the thread on the build in building section as well.

Here's another explanation of how those hi/lo input jacks work. This explanation concentrates on the jack operation ONLY and may help give you a better understanding of what happens with those jacks and resistors. This page agrees with what Rob says but states the jack operation in a simpler way (IMO). Anyhow, just another viewpoint that may or may not be helpful. Take a look at page 8 of this pdf...

Oh outstanding, I may have to add that page to the intro of my next and final video in the series, linking to your site as well.  That page has already had stuff I've read from you linking it, but I forgot it was there, that picture I linked in the video (second one, not rob's) I think was one you or someone else posted here on the forums as well.  I wish I had remembered to check your pages for that, I think I referred to the "highlighting the routing" probably thinking of this same page as I'd seen it before.

Thanks,

~Phil
