Hey. I'm new to the forum seeking help for fixing my amp. If anyone can help, please post any information and knowledge you have.
To start, I bought this supposed Ceriatone jmp50 clone. I am converting it to the Triode Electronics JTM45 diagram that I am attaching to this post. However, I don't really know much about the theory or technicality of amp wiring, this I have a few questions about the differences between the amp I have now and the Triode Electronics JTM45 diagram. My amp trannies don't have any markings to say what brand/style they are.
I have a picture attached of my power transformer. On mine, the yellow 0 wires go to pins 8 and 2 of rectifier, red 350V and 0 wires go to pins 4 and 6 of rectifier, brown 3.15V and 315V go to pins 2 and 7 of power tube, all black 0 wires go to ground, and voltages go to selector switch. I believe this may be correct wiring of this transformer but can someone confirm this?
From my "power" switch, the red wire (shown in the Triode diagram) goes straight to N on the power cable plug and not througha fuse. Instead the 2A or 3A fuse in the diagram routed to L on the plug has a black wire but not hooked up. There is an extra 0 on my power tranny; should this go here, because my tranny doesn't have the blue wire that's in the Triode diagram?
On my amp, there is no red/yellow like in the Triode diagram going to the fuse. Instead, a red wire from the primary side of output tranny goes to that 500mA fuse slot but has a 1/2A 250V fuse in its place. There is a blue and brown wire coming from my output tranny that goes to pins 3 of each power tube. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm thinking I can just put the red wire from the output tranny to the cap as shown in the Triode diagram (OT CT) and it may work?
One more thing, the Triode caps are 16M+16M (big blue one in the diagram) and 32M+32M (black one in the diagram). I have two 32M+32M at my house right now. Would I be able to substitute the 16M+16M for the 32M+32M? Any problems with this?
In advance, I will appreciate, greatly, all of the knowledge shared to me! Thanks!
