Thin, bare, loose wire coming out of OT

Hi All--
There is a thin bare wire coming out of the windings of the small OT on my old Kalamazoo Model One amp. Haven't tested it yet to see what or if it's carrying any current.

Anyone hazard a guess what it might be, and why it might be there? Doesn't show up on their schematic--it's been this way since I got it at an auction 30+ years ago.

That's fine. It may just be connected to the core. Or it could be connected to the secondary. If you really want to know what it's connected to , then disconnect the secondary wires and see if either has zero ohms continuity to that wire. If no continuity, it's probably just connected to the iron core.

It can also be an inter-winding shield.

I'm sure you can keep on ignoring it. I got wires on my sno-blower I don't know what they are for, maybe there just-in-case(*), and I ignore them cuz the blower runs good.

(*) "In case" I had bought the higher-price model with real lights, heated grips, and electric chute aimer.
