Soft Footswitch

I have a Mr. Black Downward Spiral with the normal latching foot switch. Was wondering how difficult it would be to install a soft foot switch with no audible click and pop. I can buy a momentary 3PDT to replace but I am thinking I would also need a relay switching circuit also. If so, there is probably not enough room inside the box to do this. Any ideas?

I don't like using the heavy duty In-Out or On-Off type switches myself. Aside from the trouble of trying to hit that spot hard enough on the floor, the in-rush POP is a nasty sound. I see that most, if not all, pedal gurus on the blogs use a 1M or 2.2M resistor on the front end and back end of their pedals to knock down the pop. I generally just confine my use of pedals to only a select few (Centaur clone, optical compressor and maybe a tube simulator on SS amps) and I leave it/them on throughout the gig. No kicking the floor or annoying pops. Just my way of doing it mind you.

I think Paul in the lab has a schematic for a soft touch latching circuit..  Yes, here's his circuit done on Tagboard FX http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2014/06/soft-latch-relay-bypass-daughterboard.html 
looks like it could work if you can shoe-horn it in the enclosure.
