Plexi 6V6 question
« on: September 03, 2018, 08:45:09 am »
The Plexi 6V6 has a normal channel and a bright channel with volume control for each. Only one input. How do you switch from one channel to the other? Zero out the volume of one? What happens if both volumes are turned up?

Add a on/off/both switch is what I'd do.

The normal channel sounds muddy. The bright channel sounds shrill. But both channels together sound very musical. You can use a C&K 7211 ON-ON-ON (or similar) switch to select normal, bright, or both. I predict after flipping it a few times you will end up leaving it in the both position. I can't imagine a situation where you would only want one channel, but if so, rather than flip a switch, just turn one volume knob to zero.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Yeah, that's what I meant. Ch1/ch2/both.
