Jack Price Tremolo Mod
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is anyone familiar with the tremolo mod that Jack Price at Priceless Amp Restoration performs. It seems very simple and I did perform this mod when assembling my chassis. I finally got the amp to output sound thanks to you guys and specifically to Jim (Ritchie200). Thanks again folks! The only two issues left is the tremolo and the reverb don't work. I can see the optoisolator firing when I engage the foot pedal, and I can change the speed of it. But I don't get any tremolo or reverb effect through the output. I'm just wondering if this mod is effecting either of these two effects. I guess I could always wire up the pot the schematic calls for, the way it shows it should be hooked up, and see if it works then. I've already traced all the wires and checked continuity from point to point and all is well. As always, your imput is appreciated. I'm learning!
Thanks,
Andy

If the opto bulb is firing then you need to find out if the photocell is working. But the photocell is connected to a point with no DC voltage so measuring becomes difficult. However you could apply a DC voltage to the intensity control and see the result with a 'scope. The amp bias voltage is convenient for this test!

Andy,
If TD has not solved your problem, you might want to go back to a tried and true layout. Make sure all is well and then proceed with your mod. Just the act of rewiring might turn the lightbulb on! Good luck and keep us informed.

trem is working

I found the the ground leg of the photosensative resistor side was not grounded. After sending the ground leg to ground it works perfectly. The mod works well also. I don't lose any output when the tremolo is switched off at the footswitch as long as I turn the knob all the way off. The amp is finally completed. Time for fun now. Thanks guys, I appreciate your help!
