Just sharing my latest build. My first to use a set of modular PCBs I designed to allow quick and easy design changes should I wish.
The modules are for Preamp, LTPI, Effects Loop, Reverb, Tone Stack and Power Supply. I followed a fairly anal grounding scheme, keeping chassis and audio grounds separate throughout & filter caps close. As well as trying to keep the PCB layout as close to an ideal point-to-point style as I could. I'm going to make the KiCad files and Gerbers available on GitHub or similar so others can take and modify / use...
This is an AX84 October & JCM800-style build using a pair of 6V6s, with two inputs as suggested in Sluckey's Dual Marshall. I made a few tweaks here and there based on Merlin's books and used his Bone Ray tone stack as well as the 'Scale' control he describes.
I also added a solid state effects loop and internal reverb using a Belton module usually seen in pedals.
The goal was for a loud amp that takes pedals reasonably well for use with a band. I think I've achieved that. The reverb works really well. It's loud. And a bit of boost in front makes the JCM 800 input scream. The October input gives lovely cleans.
I've a new set of 6V6s incoming and will do some preamp tube rolling, but won't spend too long on it as it's pretty much there.
