Mil spec inductor ... which preferable use ?
« on: February 18, 2020, 11:54:50 am »
A friend has just given me this inductor

I'm not very familiar with inductors, usually we see inductance value and current rating

This inductor say also 10 V 60 CY - 820 Ohms

Questions

if I interpret correctly 10 V is the max ripple that can be tamed, correct ?

with this spec (only 25 mA DC) is better to reserve the use on G2 of the power tubes ?

820 ohms seems a bit high value, is it ?

Thanks

Franco

the pic indicates it's a 30 henry (30 HY).  That's ALOT of Henrys I believe
Went Class C for efficiency

820 Ohms at 25mA is only about 20V of DC drop. No big deal on a >200V feed.

30H at 60Hz is a 10k reactance, *much* more than 820 ohms; so it is a "good choke".
