Fender Pro Reverb AA1069 Wiring Question
« on: April 18, 2020, 11:45:53 am »
I am rewiring a ’71 Fender Pro Reverb AA1069 circuit. Every copy of the schematic shows the mid control which was not put into production.

https://el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/Fender/Fender_pro_reverb_aa1069.pdf

I am wondering if anyone could provide some info on how to correctly wire the pots between the vibrato channel volume, treble, bass and reverb circuits.

I would think it would match the normal channel. But since I am new to this, I thought it would be better to ask those with more knowledge.

Thanks so much!

correct
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

They were AA165's, weren't they?

I think the Blackface was the Pro-Amp AB763 Tremolo but without reverb. Then the Silverface "Pro Reverb" was the AA165 was same as the Blackface but had Trem/Verb and then the one where they added middle control(among other stuff) was the AA169 Platefire
On the right track now<><

Thanks for all the replies!

Here's the circuit. You can see the slight difference. The feed to the vibrato tone circuit comes from the middle lug of the mid control. On the normal channel it comes from the first lug of the bass pot and has a 6.8K resistor running to ground.

The bandmaster appears to be identical to the Pro. This format was just easier to view.

BTY I completely redid the original board. It was warped and damaged from heat and there was a bit of mold and mildew under the board.

I bought the new board from Doug as well as spacers to get it up off the chassis. The eyelet placement is not identical to the original. It is better. The spacing is much easier to work with and it makes for a cleaner layout.

I found the "Blackface" Pro Reverb schematic is correct and does not have the mid control.
