Artificial heater center tap question
« on: August 15, 2021, 10:51:42 pm »
I have a question that I'm wondering about for the artificial center tap for the heater string.
With a single output tube amp, usually the heater center tap is connected to the cathode of the power tube to raise the ground for extra hum suppression.  My question is this, if you have a push pull output amp that is cathode biased with a single large cathode resistor, can you connect the heater center tap to the hot side of that cathode resistor like you would with a single ended amp?  Also, could you connect an artificial center tap to that point instead of ground?
