low power tube audio
« on: September 27, 2021, 08:36:47 pm »
I am a ham radio operator and I am building a speaker box for a FLex radio (Software Defined Radio) that only has headphones out jack.  I can buy small cheap amp modules fromParts- Express and others that would work great  but I would like to build a small tube amp for clean audio output with 1 or 2 watts out.  The box for a 5   1/2 inch speaker would be quite deep and there is room.  I have clean 12 volts DC ready.  Is there a circuit I can use for 12 volts DC?  Thanks, Jim  WA3RYT
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench--a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men left to die like dogs.   There is also a negative side.

A tube at 12 Volts is barely headphone power. Tubes don't make most radio programs sound better. Throw in a LM386 for a half watt which in a good speaker is plenty for a kitchen radio.
