DELAY
« on: December 10, 2021, 10:17:09 pm »
Hi guys, I have a "stereo" Valve amplifier (2x 6BM8 and 1x 12AX7)pulled from an old record player.
Thoughts was to build a stereo guitar amp..... and probably won't sound very stereo.
Next was one channel guitar amp with it's own PA and the other a reverb only with it's own PA

Lots of info out there on SS delay devices etc.

So the question is..
In two identical guitar amplifier circuit, can the signal in one circuit be slowed/ sped up to create a delay sound similar to a pedal.

This probably isn't what you looking for, but may add some to the basket !

Theory is when everyone knows everything but nothing works, practice is when stuff works but nobody knows why !!!

In the RF world and digital, we used something called delay-lines.  maybe surf-up "delay lines for audio" and see what wombat holes you can go down  :icon_biggrin:
Went Class C for efficiency

Just might run into a bucket brigade or echoplex.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

i have a stereo build copping the idea of the ampeg (super) echo twin to run the second amp off the first amp's post-ot reverb signal
some sort of harmonic tremolo that effects the lows of one channel and highs of the other could be interesting

i think without a bbd (or frankly a pt2399, much simpler to build a delay and even though it's digital it can get analog dirty) or other such solid state device  you will run into much difficulty trying to get a tube delay (by all means i'd love to see it though!)
