Blank chassis are a PITA.
I like using Blackface Princeton chassis for this, but I also don't use Dougs board.
Check out sluckeys TDR if you haven't already for a nice small circuit that you won't regret building.

Is there enough room for the 6l6 and larger iron? Doghouse on top?  i want the tremolo circuit though

Yes for the 6L6s and iron. Not really for the doghouse. But on these I just use the 40/20/20/20 can cap because the hole is already there.
I should've mentioned that. So, it's not sluckeys design exactly, but his board is perfect.

With the trem you'd be squeezing it in. I would do it, but I wouldn't suggest it.

I dont mind using a blank chassis but drilling them out makes a massive mess of little metal shavings everywhere. Took me weeks to rid my garage of them
