in the 90's there was a 6yr old with behavior problems in Church, I took it upon myself to "distract" the kid during the Service, so I'd take him out back to see the horses.  I kept telling Robert, "DON"T touch that wire, it will kill you"
after the 12th time protecting Robert from himself, I just let grab the wire.
kicked him 3 ft straight back, on his butt.  The look I got was worth a million $$'s  :icon_biggrin:

12 years later He was visiting his Gma's grave, stopped by my house, hugged me, told me thanks for letting him grab the wire AND watching horses

When I was around 4 or 5, I jabbed a keyhole saw into the electric fuse box at my grandmother's house. It made a big bang and the sparks did fly. Luckily, I was unharmed. The wooden handle of the saw saved me.

I was 7 or 8. Didn't really know what electricity was, and tried to pull out a stuck toast from a toaster with a all metal butter knife... Felt that one all the way to my shoulder. From that day on, I treated electricity with a whole lot of respect.

When I was 6 or 7 I did something similar to this

I actually unplugged a plug from the socket by placing the blade between the socket and the plug, result .... two large notches on the blade of the knife and the fuses blown, I ... not even a hint of shock and to think that that knife was all metal

If you are on dry wood floor (or carpet or linoleum), usually the only place electricity can flow is to your other hand resting on chassis or grounded infrastructure (radiator, stove, washer, lightswitch plate...). Or of course, concrete (it conducts better than you do).

If you are exceptionally clever you can get electricity from the tip of your little finger to the heel of the same hand. 500V hurts! Then that finger is numb for decades.

When I was 12yo a 15yo friend got an old Gitan motorcycle (175cc two stroke)

it had been in an attic since the year 1954 and it was 1965

(this is one of the same model, not that  :icon_biggrin: )

Before I and my friend had a lot of experience with a Mosquito 38cc

Similar to this, our was painted (by us) in light blue and was in better shape

we dismated and rebuild the Mosquito engine, I was only 12yo but was very passionate, and my friend too, there in Tuscany all boys were  bustle about two weels

The piston of the Gitan was stuck and to unlock it was very difficult, done that we put on a new pair of piston rings, reassembled the engine and we tried to start it, as it didn't start we dismated the spark plug, I was holding the spark plug near the engine head and my friend was acting the starter pedal, unfortunately the spark plug pipe was like this

and my thumb and index finger touched the metal during the action and from the other 3 fingers an electric shock went off towards the warhead (something like 3 red lightning)

The experience was remembered and the lesson was learn, also if effectively the low ampere didn't damaged me much, the worst was the fright

Back then a dollar would buy you a nickle bag of stems!   :l2:
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

In tech school..  we swiped a couple of forks and some wire and with a little tape made a great hot dog cooker for the room.
