Conrad Sundholm RIP
« on: July 13, 2023, 12:39:51 am »
For those who may not have heard, Conrad Sundholm, co-founder of Sunn passed away Monday after a year long illness. He was able to spend the last month or so of his life spending time with family so even though the illness and treatments were hard on him physically, he had support around in his last days. I know that he knew how much of an influence he was for all of us who love the classic Sunn products, and he loved that he had done that and was able to make something that people enjoyed. Godspeed Conrad!

For those of you in the Portland, Oregon area, there will be a celebration of life for Conrad. Here are the details.

Today:

"A celebration of Conrad’s life will be held on Saturday, July 29th at 2:00 p.m. at SouthLake Church in West Linn, OR."

5pm eastern time, if you plan to aim your Sunn west and strum a power chord.

I attended that celebration today. Conrad was a conservative and religious person so it was a church service of sorts with some bible readings and songs. It was nicely done and the reception afterwards was also nicely done. I spoke to two of Conrad's sons and his wife, and may end up helping them with going through some things as they get to winding down Conrad's affairs. He still had a lot of amp projects and parts and tools around, and one of his sons is pretty knowledgeable about things like that to some extent, but they may take me up on the offer of help. I hadn't been over to his house for a few years but I remember how much stuff he had there. We'll see if they want the help.

Thanks to everyone for keeping him in your thoughts. He was a member here and didn't post much but he did read posts from time to time over the years.
