Visio Files lost
« on: June 27, 2025, 04:42:28 pm »
Hello everyone.  Bad news here.  I just lost all of my Visio amp building *.VSD files and all of the Visio My Shapes *.VSS files too.  Network drive failure.
I'm building a Hoffman Princeton reverb with added pull volume bright switch with a mid control and I have no layout drawing to go by.  The file links in the old thread are now 404 not found.  Does anyone have all the my shapes we shared and possibly my Princeton Reverb shortboard layout file?  Thanks in advance.

If anyone has my Visio file for the Hoffman Princeton Reverb shortboard version I'd love to get it.

Update.  I found an 11"x17" color print out of the Hoffman BFPR shortboard with my pull bright volume pot and the added Mid control in my amp shop.  So, I can finish my build.  Not sure if I'm going to redraw it as this is the last one I'm building as its for my studio.  But if anyone still has the VSD file I'd love to have it.

Franco,
Yes those are the shapes.  An anonymous source sent me the shapes and my Hoffman BFPR visio file so I'm good now.  The version he had was on older CC resistor version so I'm updating it but it sure beats starting all over.  Many thanks to everyone who has helped here.

This thread is proof of why we should upload and download each others tube amp files.
A bus stops at a bus station. A train stops at a train station. On my desk, I have a work station.

Yes it is.  This is why I started sharing Visio files way back in 97.  Unfortunately I have shared only about 10% of what I've drawn since then.  Thanks to friends of this forum I have most of my shapes back and an early version of my Hoffman BFPR. I am editing that file and will upload it for review and sharing soon.  This is a great community.  I miss Steve though. :sad2:

Looks like I don't have those files.

But looking at the forum database, it says this file was downloaded over 1200 times
Hoffman_Princeton_Reverb_wiring_d.pdf

Maybe someone out there has it?

Just a heads up on loosing data
I have two network hard drives in two buildings
The main drive backs up to the backup drive every night.
Both buildings would have to burn down if I was to loose 30 years of data

Data from my PC's get backed up to the the main network drive over the network
If a PC goes down, the data is on the network hard drives

Too late now of course, but something to think about

I use Buffalo Network drives and they have been great for many years.

Thanks Doug.  Would-a, could-a, should-a.  I have some hard drives I'll be going through soon to see what is on them.
