Scroll down to the bottom and listen to "Serengeti".  The clean tracks are my 1x12 Princeton Reverb-ish amp and the lead is done with the new amp w/VVR, all tracks played with my US strat.   I really struggled with the lead to make this sound as "un-country" as possible (being most comfortable with a tele and a twangy sound), so you can tell I sort of stumble around a bit, especially in the middle section, but getting the tone of the new amp recorded was my main goal.

I remixed Serengeti, and punched in in a couple weak spots from the original.  Also, scroll down and listen to "rebel rebel".  It's pretty lo-fi, and the mix is pretty gimmicky, but hey it's hard to take such a repetitive chord progression and make it sound interesting

Hey thanks for the kind comments.  It's a pretty sweet sounding amp.  I love the feedback I can get with it.

The backing tracks I got from the guitar backing tracks website tubenit suggested.  There's actually some pretty good useable material for recording, but you have to fish through them to find the better ones.  And then the other challenge is to get them EQ'd to sit with your own tracks that you play along.

Great tone!!! I think you really hit the nail with that one. It kinda reminded me of a mixture of Kansas (Song for America), Allman Bros. and Brad Paisley. Any one of them is a compliment, but all three, that's an accomplishment!!! Keep up the good work.

That is a VERY cool tone!  I loved "Rebel Rebel".  Man, your amp has all kinds of cool harmonics, squawks and other great rocking tones to it.   A++

I liked the PR rhythm on Serengeti but honestly prefer the rhythm sound on Rebel Rebel more.

You've got some excellent ripping licks on this tune! If I saw you playing this at some club ....... it'd get me on my feet and I'd feel I gots my money's worth at the show. You laid down some really creative lead on that.

The bass pot was changed from a 1M to a 100K, because I found it not to be very effective with such a large value fixed "mid" resistance (20K).  

For recording, just a SM57 close mic'd, but I used a 12AY7 in V1 when I recorded the rhythm tracks with the LP.  The lead track was with a 12AX7 and a US strat.  The speaker is a V30.

edit: oh and by the way, it's cranked down to low volume (like that of a cranked champ, or maybe even a little less) with the VVR.

I used to cover this as a trio.
I never could quiet get the lead finger picking quiet right when he goes up on the neck.
Had to cheat and hammer on.
