Optoisolator orientation in BF Bassman &nbs

 Optoisolator orientation in BF Bassman

 Got the Optoisolator thingum from Doug to put in my blackface bassman. I'm assuming that the LED needs to be put in with the right polarity? But the leads on the LED aren't marked and I'm not sure how to wire it up. My DMM will measure diodes, but i've never used that function and not sure how it works. Can someone point me in the right direction? thanks!

 eh, sorry, it's a blackface BANDMASTER. sorry for the confusion.

 Smack me if i'm wrong but I think the Bandmaster opto uses a neon bulb and it does not matter which way it is connected. Is this for the tremolo circuit?

 i think originally it's supposed to be a neon bulb, but i'm pretty sure that there's an LED inside the little shrinkwrapped package.

yeah, it's for the tremolo....

 doug hoffman's website says it'll fit in any fender head that uses optical trem circuits... anyway, i guess nothing bad will happen if i wire it in wrong. I'll just flip it around if the trem doesnt work.

 Doug sells both kinds. Does yours look like the top photo, shrink wrapped and labeled "Trem Opto"? That one should be neon.
