Getting Bright/bite off a 4.0 Pick up
« on: April 20, 2009, 01:23:17 pm »
Trying to ressurrect some early 60's Jap (the island of Hari Kari,if you must know) single coil pick ups.  Potted them.  Put nice alnico 5 on the rythem and alnico 3 on the bridge.  Put on some nice .047 caps.  250k volume pots and 500k tone pots.  but they are still too bright.

Any tips...besides "trash em" ?

It's a sound...something different.

Yup.  Or tweak your amp.  Or use a really long cable.
