Where to get a Deluxe Reverb Blackface faceplate
« on: June 14, 2009, 12:13:22 pm »
Got a 65 with a silverface face plate and want to make it right.
Where do I find a blackface style faceplate for a Fender Deluxe Reverb??
Thanks!

Mojo has them, but to fit "their chassis" and with no logo.

Dan Marsh has the kit with face & backplates:  http://cgi.ebay.com/Deluxe-Reverb-65-Chassis-Kit-w-faceplates-New_W0QQitemZ110401393100QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item19b46f91cc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1205%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

but the faceplate alone is not listed on his website.  Maybe shoot him an inquiry.

Antique Electronics has some which I think are for the reissues. Hopefully someone else knows for sure but I think it will fit and the only difference is the pot holes are metric and have to be opened up.

Marsh does show a Deluxe Reverb faceplate on his website:
http://store.marshamps.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=82

I bought faceplates for clones of both a Princeton Reverb and a Super Reverb from Marsh.  The quality is ok and they are very close to vintage... but not exact.  I forget what it was about the P.R. plate - a vertical line over the pilot light that shouldn't have been there maybe?  The lettering appears to be white paint of some sort and seems a bit heavy to me if that makes any sense.  Still, Marsh was the best alternative I could find.

Don't know if that helps.

We have proven once again no plan survives contact with the enemy, or in this case, with the amp.
