You might have better luck and availability finding the power transformer over there. Most I seen are 120 or 240 here. Some have multiple primaries. You might get close with a 240 primary but you might end up with a lower DC voltage.

If they wound the transformer correctly, you should get the proper voltage with 220v primary or 120v primary.

Hate to drive away business from here but try tube amp doctor.

While I can't speak for parts in the UK, many transformer manufacturers have multiple windings for US or European standards. I believe Hammond makes one that has multiple windings. As for parts, it may be best to use UK or European suppliers to avoid the shipping cost and delivery time. If you want to use US suppliers, there are loads of them. Here for one, Hoffman. You can check the schematics and layouts at Weber or the Fender Field Guide. (The 5F1 is my favorite.) Doug also has a lot of information in the library. His grounding scheme is, in my opinion, the best around. I've used it in several of my amps and they are all dead quiet.

If this is your first build, PLEASE read up on safety issues regarding tube amps. There are voltages in them that can KILL you. I was hit with 700v from a military radio transmit tube and believe me, it ain't fun! (Yes, I'm an official member of the 700 Club!) If I had had both of my hands in the amp (grounded), I'd be dead. Any time you have the amp opened up, keep one hand either in your pocket or behind your back. That way you'll have no path for current flow and your chances of receiving a fatal shock are minimized greatly.

thanks for the advice guys .
well i have a better understanding of the power now.
it does and  i have wondered lol between sites
and most that are doing tubes seem to be americans.
also nothing i understand more is the voltage kills.
and somthing i have paid more amount of time learning .
as in any new intrest start from the beginning learn the hazards .
and well being hit from a genral plug taught me that last year
i was only trying to fix the strimmer lol but well these this do teach you.
so yes iam trying hard to understand this prior to well making one .
also this being a good reason id like to have the stuff readily on the board
so i can atleast make a day or 2 of it and work it through.
im not one to sit around once i start a project ,once i start i just cant stop lol.
so onwards to the parts and hopefully i can get some real sound !

Problem is when you buy parts in EC, the price is 1$ =1€ ... If you want to buy a Champ kit, say at $500 in the US, you'll pay €500 in a EC company, aka about 40% more! (see TAD or other vendors).
NB: TAD kits = Mojo kits, by the way.

I forget buying things in EC. I live in Switzerland and if you add € to CHF conversion, custom fees (huge between EC countries and CH), port (same problem as custom fees) + currency change (THX, MasterCard!) and list price, you get a 60% + cost than buying in US from Switzerland... Go figure. Flying a plane from Cali to East Coast then above Atlantic to Paris then Basel to Lake Geneva region is cheaper than driving a truck between Germany and Switzerland for 300 miles or so. We live in a strange world, these days! :cussing:
