fender choke in marshall?
« on: September 22, 2010, 08:10:50 pm »
I am in the process of building a 50 watt marshall type amplifier.  I have a fender choke rated at 90ma with 1500 dc res.  I cannot find the specs on the Marshall choke.  I think it will work ok.  Although I want my build to turn out good, I really have to try and use the new parts I have purchased in the past if at all possible.  Any pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I have a fender choke rated at 90ma with 1500 dc res.

I would say that would be fine.  The standard 5F6A choke is ~100R which will work fine in any similar-powered (~50W) Marshall

The Marshall is 40H & 50ma.The Fender choke will work fine.
They sound different however, the 40H choke will have more focused bottom end.

That's nice that you link to Triodes store, but maybe you should link to mine also?

I think that can be arranged somehow
