Hiwatt update
« on: December 22, 2010, 11:30:26 am »
Well I put in the board and all that.
http://www.el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=10265.0
So voltages are 6.70 (was 7.8)and 3.82.
So some improvement.
At low volume the amp is quiet.
But as before if you turn up the gain and mv hum and buzz not as bad as before but the core problem
is still there. The amp actually sounds pretty decent, but I don't know what to do on it.
As before I can kill the problem by shorting certain parts.
So some improvement but still got a problem. There is some kind of ground problem here.
Any ideas? Rebuild or is it a transformer tube arrangement problem

I might jump on a deal for a jet city 20watt which was a pretty decent cheap amp.
A little noisey but okay.
What do you think?
