How to restore cromed corners and other little metal pieces ?

I must remove the rust from the metal corners and metal parts of the handle of an old head

I've think to use a rotating wire brush or a chemical pickling

then to restore of the chromate I've seen some spray that give a chromed effect

have you experience with that ?

any council about how to proceed ?
