Checking a cap can/anyone use the JJ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a JJ 32/32 cap can that is about the only thing left thru the process of elimination that could be causing my amp's muddy loose low end, hardness, and generally horrible tone. Is it possible it could be bad and cause that yet not cause hum? If so, how can i check it? Also, anyone use the JJ can's and have opinions on them....are they problematic or anything?

I put six JJ 50/50uF cans in my brother's 100w Marshall about a year ago. No trouble.
For a quick check, you could swap the wires going to each half of the JJ can to see if it changes the character of the problem--indicating a bad can. This assumes that the two halves are not paralleled to be a big 64uF cap.

I already tried that, so i guess it's ok, as it's not paralleled. Thanks.
