Grounding questions
« on: February 15, 2012, 02:09:09 pm »
I have a ground "bar", a piece of 18 gauge solid wire that runs the length of my turret board along the edge between the board and pots. i use it to ground all points in the preamp, and at the far end opposite the input jack it terminates and a wire is attached about 3-4" long that goes from there to the chassis ground where the PT and all psu caps are attached to a bolt thru the chassis except the bias caps.  The 4 bias caps (have dual bias) are grounded at that far end of the bar right before the wire that goes to the chassis ground. Should i remove them from the ground bar and give them thier own wire to the chassis bolt?

Second question....the EL34 cathodes are grounded to the chassis thru thier own ground bolt between the 2 EL34's. Should i lift them from that ground and run a wire to the main chassis ground bolt?

thanks for reading... :occasion14:

EL34 and power supply ground are better be close to the power transformer . Other tubes and preamp circuit are more quiet with their own ground.
