100 watt plexi cap wiring
« on: December 21, 2015, 04:10:49 pm »
Does anyone have pics of how the caps in 100 watt hoffman plexi are wired? Having trouble as to where on the board they all go. Thanks

The caps are probably not actually mounted on the Hoffman board. Some of them 'may' be located along the edge of the board. You'll have to work with both of these drawing...

Marshall used six 50/50 cap cans. Five of the cap cans have the two 50µF sections connected together to get 100µF total. This makes for a very tidy layout. Here's a layout that shows that style. The board is different from the Hoffman board so you would have to adapt.

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thanks Sluckey, That's what was confusing me, the amount of caps used in this build and which ones that needed to be connected together.
