Groundingissues with Blues Junior Hoffman build
« on: July 25, 2016, 07:17:26 am »
Hi.  I was wondering if anyone can tell me why thev1-2, v1-2 and v2-7 leads are shielded and if the shield should go anywhere?  I get a bit of noise in the build, though sounding great.

Best.

Those low level signal wires are long and should be shielded to minimize noise pickup. Connect the shield to the ground buss on the pots. Don't connect the shield at the tube end of the wire.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
