Silvertone 1482 Hum

I have a Silvertone 1482 that sounds great but has an annoying buzzing/hum sound (120cycle). All the tubes were replaced with no difference. Want to replace the multi cap filter can due to the age of this amp but am having a hard time finding a 450V - 5uf -10uf -20uf multi cap can. I don't want to use 3 separate caps and was wondering what would be a good replacement. The cap can is about 1" in diameter and 3" tall. AES and Weber carry multi cap cans but not in these values. The closest I can find is a Weber 32-16-16-450V but would have to enlarge the hole a bit. Any other suggestions?

strap 2 of the 10uF together the 5uF becomes a 10uF - not a problem.

Found a 20 -10-10-10 multicap can at AES that will work. Will have to enlarge the hole a bit though.

Have a couple of more questions. If I connect the 2 10uf together (parallel), wouldn't I get 20uf instead of 5? Is there a way to wire 2 of these together as in series since they share the same ground?
Also, could I use 10uf in place of the 5uf. Thinking of using the 10-10-10-10/450 multi-section can and connect 2 of the 10ufs for the 20uf.

They didn't use 5uFd for "tone", it was about the half-cent cheaper.

Silvertone amps are on the low side of "cheap". If you don't have Silvertone's profit manager whipping your butt, you DO want 10uFd where they put 5uFd. Especially in a preamp where it is only about stray hum, not "tone".

I had 3 of the 1484 twin twelves back in the early 70's. The only amps I could afford back then but wish I kept at least one of them. Saw Stephen Stills a few years ago and he had one of these in his backline.

I have another dumb question on the CE twist lock capacitor. Do I need both the mounting plate (AES SH120M) and the insulator (AES SH120) to mount the cap? Will either of these hold the cap without using a clamp? I have never used these CE twist lock caps before.

If the negative terminal will be connected to chassis then just use the metal plate. You never use both plates.
