Ok, a man's got to know his limitations.  And although Randy sings a near perfect Jimi, well, Randy sings like Jimi....  Here he is doing every guitar hero from Jimi to Pete to Jimmy and Alice in Chains to the Beatles to even the Flintstones and Fiddler on the Roof...  The guy can play ANYTHING.  But he can only sing like Jimi...  So with that in mind, he does make up for it with his guitar ability and energy.  I like his outdoor shows.  He is usually running a full stack and is moving some air.  I like this better than the throttled club videos.

I like the dude, but playing a left handed guitar and dressing like a queen does not make for a great show.  Jimmy changed to JIMI with enough added acid makes sense.  This day and time it is just a copy.

Ed, that's his bag, man!  Didn't you watch that Machine Gun Video Doug posted?  Nobody, and I mean nobody plays Hendrix like Randy.  And he was doing it back in the 70's.  The guy is awesome!

I had a friend named Barry Richmond who did the Hendrix flamboyant style and covered Hendrix so see I would have to leave part of his shows, like when the Star Spangled Banner is played OUTof tune,


This was also before Stevie Ray  hit.


No one much was interested in Blues t that time, but a Hendrix Tribute drew crowd.


Barry played a Dakota Red Strat and did quite a show, but since he was right handed he used a right handed start. Bridge pup was reversed. Any time you visited he was learning some of that live noise Hendrix did. Still don't understand what the attraction of banging a guitar is?

Yeah, that was the amazing thing to me--unless I missed something? but it appeared he played the whole set without stopping without twisting a tuning key--or I didn't see it. He's pretty fast and could work it in unseen I guess. That just ain't normal for the kind of whangging he did.
