Greetings all,
I am new here, but not new to either tubes or electronics. Or to much else for that matter. I am a retired railroad electronic tech who got my start in tubes in the Navy back in the mid 60's. And to be honest, the whole reason I got into naval electronics in the first place is because I wanted to know how to repair my own equipment. Smart 18yo kid who thought he new what was what.
It did lead to making a living after the service for the next 40 some years, but somehow I never got back to the amps. At least until about a decade ago when I all of a sudden had a lot of time on my hands waiting for the wife to get old enough to join me.
First thing that happened was I got ahold of a batch of filter and bypass caps from Doug and rebuilt my 65 Blackface Bandmaster. Pieces and parts for 63, 64, and 67 Bandmasters followed along with a bassman or two along the way. I also found time to build a pedal or two along the way, but I was convinced to give that up as a bad habit.

In any event, the wife retired, we moved back where we came from and somehow those old fenders keep finding me. Not to collect, but to fix. And I do enjoy them. Currently working in a 63 6g-14 Showman that has a few interesting twists I will be introducing on the forum. She;s got a sawtooth on the plate supply, but that is a topic for elsewhere.
looking forward to participating here,
Bob
