 New amp photos

 Here are some photos of the latest amps. This is a combination of 2 heads that I just finished. The one with wrinkletext paint is a Bassman style amp with Mid boost switch, the other is a plexi style with gain boost and master volume. Both are in Mahogany cabinets with red lightup faces. The inside shot is the plexi.

 That is nice craftmanship. Very good looking cabinet and the light just tops it off. It's sweet!

As for the red light......I use a clear plexi face that I have engraved on the backside(lettering is backwards) I then have LED banks that run off 120v that I mount above the face to backlight it.
As for Hummm.....this one is VERY quiet. When I setup this design(the two seperate boards) I spent about 2 weeks debugging the first one I built. I now have a grounding scheme and parts placement that eliminates noise. The boost switch adds 'rush' noise with the extra gain, but not that much.

nice! do people order these from you like that, or do you build to personal taste then sell them? looks like you wouldnt like to gig those amps, where are they going?

 People order them, and I build them. I do some minor customizing(transformers, woods, caps, rectifiers, light colors......) but basically use 3 circuits with the same chassis configuration.
The bassman style is going to a guy in Wyoming, and the Plexi is going to Peoria IL. I have amps in 8 states now.
It keeps my hobby moving and gives me a reason to build amps. I am working on two new radical designs(my own designs) for new models later this summer, this is the fun part for me.
As for gigging, I include ATA flight cases for them for $150.

 cool, looks like your distinguishing yourself as a builder. your cabnetry is very reminisent of the trainwreck heads, do they get special names? do you mind if i ask what get for say the 5f6 head?

 As a matter of fact, I am trying to make all the cabinets the same and not name them.(Ease of manufacturing....) I offer any type of wood people want, but most folks just stick with the standard Mahogany. It is hard, doesn't warp/expand, and looks better with age.
The one head in the photos is a 5F6 type amp, with the mid-boost circuit, annodized/silkscreened chassis, lightup face, Heyboer trannies and mahogany cabinet runs $1100.
Weren't you making amps for folks? I thought I remember you making some plexi heads for people?

 no, im not building for resale, just a hobby. in the future i may make the move, alot of players who heard my 18watt want one. i built about 4 of them each better than the first. right now im playing around w/the london power standard setup, power/preamp heads. in the interim just playn, building and fixn friends amps.

 I have a local laser engraver who does the logo work and faceplate engraving for me. It is pricey, but it is the easiest way to do it and looks great.
