Princeton Reverb build
« on: August 02, 2020, 08:26:50 am »
Just finished building the PR without reverb or trem and it turned out pretty good. The amp is really quiet. You don't know it is on untill you hit a note. Seems to start breaking up at about 12:00 on the volume . Only issue so far is that the dang thing is really loud. At 2 on the volume it is shaking the walls. When I can get it back from the player I will install a MV. That should fix it. I was intending to post some pics but I saw P2P's pic and don't want to shame myself..Take care, be safe...

no shame in where your skills are at right now! Which PR did you do? Blackface? Did you keep the reverb load resistor/filter cap in there?

AA1164 and yes on reverb load resistor and cap..I did cheat a little the transformers are over sized, 330-0-330 volt 120 ma. the OT is 20 watt. basically the deluxe transformers. Running 450 v. on the 6V6 plates, 155 v. on the pre amp tube plates and 185 v on the PI. I gave it a mid range pot and it is set up to switch out the tone stack.
