First Build - Pro Junior???
« on: April 05, 2019, 11:09:30 am »
I am looking to build my first amp.  I was thinking about a Champ kit, but I have a Pro Junior that I don't use very often and realized Hoffman has  a turret board for it.  I've done some modding and am an Electrical Engineering student so I have experience with electronics.  Is the Pro Junior to much of an undertaking for a first build?

Thanks

Looks simple enough to me. Just study all the documentation Hoffman provides and see what you think. Good soldering skills are necessary. Hoffman provides plenty of good pics. Try to make yours look just like his and you should be successful.

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Did you ever do this?

Was thinking of doing this conversion on one of my PJs (the black mexican for now will leave US tweed as is)
I am looking for what improvements you discovered?
Was the converted PJ less noisy that stock?
Did you follow the Fender circuit or Hoffman? How did the tone change?
