Geon-- never heard of it
« on: March 06, 2022, 04:58:58 pm »
Geon-- never heard of it. But I am surrounded by it. It was an early brand of electrical PVC, which was so-so-so much better than rubber that it took-over quickly. The company is still in business under the Geon name, tho they seem to be divorced from Goodrich (whoever they are now). While there are 6 or 8 other code-insulations, most notably the "Nylon" skin on THHW, PVC is still 90% of the market. PVC is of course a commodity but tested traceable PVC may still be a brand-name thing, even if the wire-maker does not tell you where they get PVC.
