Resistor Types
« on: April 07, 2022, 05:53:17 pm »
I'm just sifting through a large joblot of carbon comp and film resistors, and many more,

In the 1st picture, I recognise 1 and 2 as carbon composition types, and I think 4 is the piher type carbon film,

What are the green coloured number 3 type? are they old metal film or oxide

In the 2nd picture there is a pile of grey more modern looking type, are these likely metal oxide?

set up a test rig for Resistor destruction.
work the math for a fail in <500mSec
the carbon will fail different than the metal film - flame-proof.  the others might need a mass spectrometer to discern  :icon_biggrin:
Went Class C for efficiency
