1982 Rivera Super Champ Reverb Tank?
« on: November 07, 2016, 06:53:00 am »
What type reverb tank goes in a 1982 Rivera Super Champ? I know it is a 3 spring but not the number.
I have a John Mergili 12" cab the amp is now mounted in with a Weber Blue Dog 12" Alnico speaker.

4AB3C1B, same as all the other Fender tube driven tanks. This tank is 16-3/4" long. If your cab is too narrow use a short tank.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thankyou Steve! My cab is a bit to small for the bigger tank.

Then use 8AB3C1B  or any of the other 10Ω input, 2500Ω output tanks. There are several to choose from. Tank differences mainly deal with mounting orientation and/or isolated versus non isolated input/output jacks.

Just what i ordered. The 8AB3C1B. Cant wait to hear the Alnico Blue Dog 30 watt speaker.

I just got one in for service, 1982 Rivera-era Super Champ, with an 8E tank, not 8A, different input impedance, and not working. Trying to identify / confirm the correct tank.  Uses a 12AT7 to drive it but a 6C10 for recovery.  Any advice greatly appreciated!
