Am i missing something here?

Checking out the price of Celestion Vinttage 30's, and Musicians Friend has them for 145.00 each;

Okay, then I check out this Egnator Cabinet, solid Birch, Birch back 4x12, and its 599.00 loaded with , yep, Celestion V30's. Whats going on here?;

To top it all off, I look at the price of a new Marshall 1960 cabinet, and its 950.00. The specs on the Egnator look every bit as good. even better,  unless I am missing something, what with the solid birch back compared to the particleboard Marshall back- and also the steel handles vs. Marshalls plastic handles. Egnator doesnt have Caster cups on top, so you'd have to put rubber feet on your amp- so what!
Am i really paying 300.00 for that little plastic Marshall emblem??;

NO, you are paying $350 for the little plastic logo.

1, I'd look around- 145 is a bit much for a copy of what was and still is a cheap speaker built down to a price.

2, If someone gave me a 4X12 I'd take it (just to be gracious) toss the cabinet and keep the speakers if they were any good. The 4X12 is a solid contender for the worst speaker enclosure design of all time. It's comb filter hell and a beam-box to boot.

3, I have a 4X10 on the patio waiting for the garbage 'large item' collection... last time it was used was as a control for a speaker sound off- as the vintage tone example. It's response is a jagged mess that plummets a little above 100Hz, peaks at about 4500 and plummets above that, ugly as sin.
This problem calls for a bigger hammer!
