Another Magnatone M10A / Reverb Problem
« on: October 21, 2010, 12:28:41 pm »
This is the 5th M10A in 5 months i have got in for a cap job. Must be a Magnatone year. That does not include 3 Custom 280's and one 380 custom

My question is: I have no reverb in this M10A. The reverb tank impedance looks wrong to me but i can use some clarification

The reverb tank Input is 175 ohm's & Output is 175 Ohm's / Shouldnt they both have different impedances?

That tank is cap driven.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Well the .047 and .1 cap (1uf) are good. I think the 1uf cap dictates the strenghth of the reverb. Nothing so far

Am i screwing up on the .1 being 1uf?

I removed the old reverb cap and it is a  .25uf. It was barley soldered to the tube and terminal strip it was on. It looks like someone was trying to get it working.  Looking for a 1uf now
