Tweed BluezMeister combo
« on: January 25, 2011, 07:01:16 pm »
This is my combo of Geezer's BluezMeister amp. I am very happy with it.

Only EQ added on this soundclip with a tiny bit of delay:

http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=10193624&q=hi&newref=1

Only EQ added on this soundclip with nothing else:

Wished I could play as good as Geezer to provide a better demo of the amp.

This is a VERY fun amp to play!

With respect, Tubenit

What no witty clever comments or psychologically warped humor!  I'm terribly disappointed.  I just don't feel at ease without at least some ribbing by you!

Just for that .......... next time I open for Deep Purple, I am only throwing Peavy amps and Kramer guitars into the crowd and none of the good stuff like Marshalls or Fenders.

Thanks for the nice remark, it is genuinely appreciated!  Hopefully next St. Lou trip, I can buy you a Shiner Bock & you can share how Jimi was taught all his great riffs by Ritchie.
 :headbang:

Best regards, Tubenit

Nice demos, Jeff.  Am I hearing a lot of neck pickup on cool jam and mostly bridge pickup on phone booth jam?
Very cool how the tone evolves as you bend and release and the note decays.  Is that what you mean by the "bloom?"

I started off with the neck pickup on both tunes and then went to the bridge/middle pickup  (I think?).

Neither of these demos do a very good of demonstrating the blooming thing, IMO. I would've needed to crank the OD and the master volume a little more to get that going well.  The blooming thing is when the note sustains & then the notes swell and somewhat changes tone into sort of a vowel sound. You can hear it a little bit when a note is bent up and then held/sustained.

The amp has more blooming capability then the demos show.

Cool stuff Jeff,

What is the BluezMeister amp?

The BluezMeister is actually the Tweed BluesMaster that Geezer came up with & posted about maybe 3 wks ago?  It's a cathode biased Dumble type amp with some signficant tweaks that he came up with and value changes.

This is just my version of his. Unfortunately, I can't crank it when recording and get the recording to sound good. It's actually got a pretty cool "blooming" effect with sustained notes.

Geezer's soundbits sound ALOT better than mine, IMO.

Thanks for the nice comment.  Best regards, Jeff

Ya know, I try to take the high road and be a nice guy and where does it get me?!?!?!  "I" think your infatuation with this bridge pickup groove mentality is a direct reflection of where you would like to be on a personal level.  HOWEVER, it is obvious by your remarks that this is yet another unsuccessful pacifier and your true feelings of rage and inadequacy are once again boiling to the surface.  Your passive-aggressive comments do not fool me.  It is obvious you are tortured by the person you secretly wish to become, Ritchie Blackmore.

Geezer clip is awesome.  I was gonna say Dumble? but I now see you said that.  Cool.  I only listened to the first Geez clip and would only suggest you make the guitar a little more distant so that it sounds a bit more transcendent and ethereal.  It sounds very close and intimate as is.  To each his own though; that may be what you wanted.

Wouldn't want to call it the Dumble Bee?

Another clip. Slow blues showing the contrast between the clean channel and the OD kicked in at 2:38. OD was NOT cranked. Trim, drive and level all set about "3".
