Telequipment D1010 Oscilliscope
« on: June 14, 2011, 11:43:14 am »
Hello,

I have an oportunity to pick up an old Telequipment D1010 made in england for really cheap and was wondering if, it's in working order, it would be suitable for tube amp analysis.

The full manual can be found online in a PDF so I should be able to go through calibration and possible troubleshooting.

Any othe rinformation on it would be great

It better be really, really, really cheap. Yes, it is perfectly usable. It is pretty darned old!

One issue is whether or not you get reasonable probe(s) with it. You can use aftermarket probes and cheap usable ones can be bought in the $15 range. Probes are essential..."homebrew" ones are completely irritating.

This is a 30 years old piece of gear. I wouldn't pay more than $20 for it and I would have to see it working and be able to hit it on the side to see if it "jiggled" when I hit it. It is a decent quality piece of gear, its bandwidth (10 Mhz) is perfectly adequate for audio.

Yeah its 10 bucks but no probes with it. The trace is stable without the probe so it can't really hurt to pick it up guess.

PRR is a strong supporter of the use of oscilloscopes, even if not exactly recent, if they are intended for guitar audio use
