the speaker . I did plug it into the weber sig 12 s alnico 8 ohm I have in my other build and it was much warmer .
I don't play at high levels since I am in an apt and there is place i can try another 10 so it must be the alnico mag. I had a weber sig 8 s alnico in my 73 SF Champ and at low levels it was warm and had a toneful bottom end , at high levels it did break up a bit but not what one would expect . I had the 73 SF champ in a 71 music master bass amp of pine and had a weber sig 10 s alnico in there when a 4 ohm version was offered and it sounded about the same with a bit more bottom and then made an adapter ring to install a weber sig 8s alnico and it was still warm the only diff between the 8 and 10 was the ten had a bit more bottom. How an 8 inch alnico can sound better than a 10 " ceramic is beyond me but it did. I did have a weber sig 8s ceramic and hated it and a weber vintage 8F125 ceramic with the 30 oz ceramic mag and it didn't sound one bit better than the sig 8s ceramic. I built a pine cab back then and had both the sig 8 s ceramics in it but neither was as warm as the sig 8 s alnico . I have had other eminence 12 inch ceramics and they sounded fine yet they were all heavy duty speakers yet that's a different game .
