6J6A Long Tail Phase Inverter.

any ever try using a 6J6 for a long tail? would any of you even consider it?

here's what i was thinking...

75K Ra1
91K Ra2
1K2 Rk
10K Rtail
1K   Rtail-nfb
RNFB - to taste...
about 3mA bias sitting around -4Vgk.
should make about 70Vpk into 220K loads.

thoughts?

never mind.

tube does not sound good for guitar amp use - maybe in hi-fi it would find a better home. tried a wide range of bias points and i liked none of the tone. reverting to the 6AV6 cathodyne.

Also notice the 6J6 draws the same filament current as a 6V6 power tube.

9W tube - should draw some fil. current. 6SN7 draws even more - 600mA, i doubt that's only reason it hasn't worked out well for me for guitar amp use.
