6L6's in a Deluxe Reverb

What do you guys think about running 6L6's in a stock DR. The PT filament winding is rated at 3 amps. Isn't that a little iffy?

I've had 5881's in mine for three years now, although it's just a bedroom amp.  (.9a x 2) +(.15a x 5) = 2.55 amps, might be a bad idea in the long run, but that seems to be a reasonable margin to me.

I ran one like that for a while. As I recall the PT ran a bit warmer but it didn't suffer any failures.
Some of the most amazing music in history was made with equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

If your heater voltage is over 6 volts with the 6L6 , power transformer is enough powerfull. Normal is 6.3. If under 6 volts, remove your 6L6.
6L6 give a cleaner tone.
