Trem tube ground
« on: June 29, 2012, 09:57:17 pm »
http://www.el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/ampeg/m12_6v6.pdf

In the above sshem.
Tremolo tube.
In your guys opinion.....Is there a problem, electronic or audio, with grounding the 120k and 270k resistors in the trem circuit with the cat resistor of the foot switch.?
Can I just ground all 3 of those at the same node without any worry of creating an issue.?
I am not really sure what all different currents (besides the cat) are involved there, and if they conflict.
Thank You

The 270K resistors are plate resistors and should connect to B+, not ground. But everything at the bottom of that circuit that is connected to ground can share the same ground point, ie, 120K, speed pot, unmarked grid resistor, cathode bypass cap, footswitch, and intensity pot.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

I guess it is called a grid leak resistor.....from the grid(s) to ground. It is 270k.
Anyway all that stuff can share a common.?
Thanks, just wanted to make sure.
